Training of Civil Observers - Political Process

 

From 5th  to 7th  April, 2013, the first training of civil observers of the  Election Day was carried out. 23 people from across the country, who had passed the entrance interviews on 16 and 17 March in Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo, will be trained for regional coordinators on the Election Day. At the end of April they will be joined by 8 other people for the next training, in order to cover the coordination in all 31 multi-mandate constituencies in the country.

The program of the Module started by introducing the topics "Politics and Democracy" and "Political Process". On the meaning of politics, values, political regimes and dividing lines in society, functions of the political parties and trends in the political field, the participants talked with their lecturers – Dr. Svetoslav Malinov and Dr. Boris Popivanov. The modern concept for Left and Right, effective political speeches, content and communication in the political process were topics of the next lecturers - Prof. Dr. Lilyana Kaneva and Prof. Dr. Dobrin Kanev. Ivelin Nikolov spoke on civil society; and the role of civil observers was explained in the general framework of the Electoral Law by Rumiana Siderova, CEC member. At the end of the Module, trainees were put in group-dynamic training for effective communication, non-verbal communication and ways of decision making. The training was led by Stefan Georgiev and Zlatka Dragneva.

The second Module of the training will be carried out in the period 25-27 April 2013
