First Session of the Civil Board for Free and Transparent Elections

On August 27th 2014, the first session of the Civil Board for Free and Transparent Elections was held. It involved representatives of 40 NGOs, MI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Registration and Administrative Services office (CRAS) and CEC. ISI was also represented.

At its first session, the Board discussed and adopted the rules for its work. Prof. Emilia Drumeva stressed that membership in the Board was voluntarily and unpaid but at the same time highly valuable. She emphasized the importance of the presence of CEC representatives at the sessions. The sessions would follow an agenda but there would be a possibility to include additional issues of interest.
