Conference “Agenda for change: Increasing the impact of EU development policy”

With its "Agenda for change", COM 2011 (637), the European Development Commissioner Andrias Piebalgs presented a new strategic document which will govern the EU development policy in the years to come. It aims at achieving a bigger coherence between the EU policies in order to promote development in its foreign relations. It equally puts  new emphasis on human rights, democracy and other key elements of good governance. The impact of the new approach, however, depends to a large extent on the participation of the various stakeholders in this process as well as on the positions of the national governments of the member-states. Taking into consideration these challenges and in order to achieve the goals how will a bigger policy coherence be achieved?

Six speakers and an expert panel will be looking for an answer to this and other questions together with the participants in the conference “Agenda for change: Increasing the impact of the EU development policy”, organized on 27 February 2012 at the headquarters of Konrad Adenauer in Brussels. As a member of ENOP the Institute for Social Integration will be represented at the conference by Katya Koleva – Chairwoman of the Executive Board and Galina Assenova – Executive Director.
